The ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel guestrooms are decorated in a hip retro Hawaiian style. Dark Indonesian teak furniture is accented by natural tones of wicker and vibrant bedspreads and headboards in most rooms. Bamboo-bead closet curtains depict hula dancers. Bathrooms feature curved shower rods for a roomy feeling behind kappa-print shower curtains. All rooms have 32-inch flat-panel TVs with complimentary HBO, pay movies, and video games (surcharge). Getting there: Shuttles and taxis are both available right outside baggage claim. Shuttles charge $5–$15 per person, while typical taxi fare is more than $36. Rental cars are another option and are available online.
Getting around: Myriad shops, restaurants, and attractions surround the hotel, so walking is definitely popular. Public transportation is also excellent in the area, providing service both within Waikiki and to other popular destinations such as the Ala Moana Center (Hawaii's largest mall), Hanauma Bay, and Pearl Harbor. A single ride costs less than $5, while a four-day pass costs $16–$25. Taxis are also abundant, and the hotel can call for service. For extensive travel around the island, the best bet is either a rental car (available online) or an organized tour.
