Facing Kaanapali Beach amid fairways and tropical gardens, the 27-acre Royal Lahaina Resort is Kaanapali’s original resort, designed in the style of a Hawaiian village.
Guests gather for sunset cocktails and torch-lighting at the poolside Royal Ocean Terrace, or soak up the retro-cool Hawaiian ambience at the Don the Beachcomber tiki lounge. A casual restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating, with views of the garden and the blue Pacific beyond. Beachside massage, bridal beauty treatments, and other services are available from an on-site salon.
Two 18-hole golf courses are adjacent. A complimentary Kaanapali Resort shuttle takes guests to Whalers Village shopping and Kaanapali’s oceanfront activities. Walking tours of the historic Kaanapali area are complimentary.

The 27-acre Royal Lahaina Resort offers 447 guestrooms, available among the 12-story Lahaina Kai Tower and 23 one- and two-story cottages.
Lahaina Kai Tower's guestrooms and suites feature custom-designed teak furnishings and natural materials, and state-of-the-art amenities. Guestrooms have plush beds with 330-thread-count Egyptian cotton linens. Amenities include 32-inch flat-panel HDTVs, sound systems with MP3 docking stations, cordless phones, and wired and wireless high-speed Internet access. Private lanais, most with views of the Pacific Ocean, are included.
The resort’s original garden and oceanfront cottage guestrooms and one- and two-bedroom cottage suites were renovated spring 2008 with plush beds, 330-thread-count Egyptian cotton linens, new paint, and carpeting. Cottage rooms feature furnished lanais and casual island-inspired decor, including wicker and rattan furnishings. Cottage suites include full kitchens.
All rooms and suites have compact refrigerators, coffeemakers, in-room safes, and air-conditioning.
All guestrooms are nonsmoking.

Driving directions from Kapalua West Maui Airport: Turn left on Hwy 30. Drive approximately 4 miles, and turn right onto Kaanapali Parkway, which is the main Kaanapali Resort entrance.
Kahului Airport (OGG): Approximate driving time to Royal Lahaina Resort is 45 minutes, and distance is 32 miles.
Driving directions from Kahului Airport:
- Drive southwest on Hwy 380.
- Drive approximately 8 miles, turn right onto Hwy 30, which heads straight for Lahaina.
- After another 3 miles, turn left onto Kaanapali Parkway, which is the main Kaanapali Resort entrance.
Getting there: Rental cars, available online, are the best option from either airport. Taxis cost approximately $14 from Kapalua, $60 from Kahului. Shuttle vans cost slightly less.
Getting around: A complimentary shuttle takes guests around the Kaanapali Resort and its golf courses. An hourly shuttle (surcharge) travels to Lahaina and Kapalua. Rental cars are recommended for exploring Maui’s many attractions.

Children 17 years of age and younger may stay without charge in each room with a paying adult, based upon available bedding. If a double bed room is unavailable, a rollaway bed will be provided without charge for children staying in a king bed room with a paying adult.
