Kihei Town, a peaceful (20 mph limit) community arrayed along the ocean, contains a myriad of shopping, dining, and nightlife opportunities. A mile from the resort is a shopping center with a 24-hour supermarket.

This beachfront Kihei resort offers individually decorated condo units in three buildings. Each condo at the Hale Pau Hana Resort includes an ocean-view lanai, ideal for whale-watching in winter and sunset-viewing year-round. Bright and airy condos are decorated island-style, with light colors and floral fabrics. All units have full kitchens. Only bedrooms are air-conditioned.

- Exit the airport on Keolani Pl. Stay in the middle lane and continue through the first traffic light onto Dairy Rd / Hwy 380.
- Proceed one mile on Hwy 380.
- At the fifth traffic light, turn left onto S Puunene Ave / Hwy 350, which after one-half mile veers right and becomes Mokulele Hwy / Hwy 311.
- Continue on Hwy 311 for about six miles.
- At a traffic light, turn left onto Piilani Hwy / Hwy 31 and proceed about five miles.
- Make a sharp right turn onto Alanui Kealii Dr, and proceed one-half mile until the road ends.
- Turn left onto S Kihei Rd, and Hale Pau Hana is about one-quarter mile on right.
Getting there: Rental cars (available online) are the most popular option. Airport shuttles and taxis are also available; one-way shuttle fares range from $26–$35 for one person, and taxi fares are more than $36. Fees subject to change without notice. Advance reservations are required for shuttle service.
Getting around: Most visitors find car rentals to be the most convenient option, especially for popular day trips to Hana and Haleakala. Car rentals are available online. Walking and bicycles are popular for getting around the immediate area. Taxis are also available. For under $5, the Akina Shuttle, part of the Holo Ka’a Public Transit System, stops across the street from the hotel every two hours on a route between Makena and Maalaea Harbor; with fares between $5–$15, service is also available to Lahaina, Kaanapali, and the rest of West Maui. Fees subject to change without notice.
