Driving directions from Hilo International Airport: Airport Access Road to first signal which is a junction with Highway 11; turn left onto Hwy 11; drive up Hwy 11 for 27 miles and locate the 28 mile-marker, then drive a half mile to the entrance of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Volcano House Hotel is located just across street from Kilauea Visitor Center.
Rental cars are available online. Taxis (more than $50, prices subject to change without notice) also available, as is limited bus service (less than $5, prices subject to change without notice). Buses run once a day, Mondays–Fridays (hours subject to change without notice).
